About Searches.com
Most people default to one search engine for everything. That is rarely optimal.
Searches.com exists to help you match the job to the right tool. We maintain a curated, regularly updated directory of specialized search engines and discovery tools across AI research, academic literature, privacy-first search, code search, visual search, jobs, and shopping.
What we do
- Hand-pick tools that solve a real, distinct job better than a general search engine.
- Organize them by use case so you can find the right one quickly.
- Surface key signals (pricing model, scale, standout features) without the noise of affiliate-heavy review sites.
- Keep the list focused. We would rather have 18 excellent tools than 200 mediocre ones.
What we are not
- We are not a search engine ourselves.
- We do not rank or promote tools based on paid placement.
- We do not claim to test every feature of every tool every week. When we feature a tool, we have used it and believe it earns its place.
Independence
Searches.com is an independent project. Some outbound links may contain referral parameters so we can understand which tools people find useful. This never influences which tools appear in the directory or how they are described.
Editorial identity and evidence
Searches.com is the publisher and editorial entity behind the directory, tool profiles, comparisons and research framework. We distinguish sourced product facts from our own judgments, publish verification dates on upgraded reviews, and document the protocol before calling a result a benchmark.
